Field Application Specialist


What you will do

As a Field Application Specialist based in Switzerland, working for an industry leader, you’ll join a global team of engineers that are committed to ensuring Tecan’s professional service for our customers who utilize our scientific instrumentation and software. In this position you are responsible for service, installation and applications of our liquid handling and detection equipment within the French speaking part of Switzerland. You perform problem diagnosis, service, preventive maintenance, installations, delivery of applications and train our customers on the use and maintenance of our equipment. You will develop and implement applications at the customers site and share information obtained from unique cases or specialized trainings with the rest of your team. 


Responsibilities will include

  • Responding to customer’s requests and complaints in a prompt and professional manner
  • Solving customer hard-and software problems at the customer sites
  • Installation of hardware and software along with delivery of application scripts
  • Escalating issues within the organization when needed
  • Maintaining knowledge of instruments and products by attending trainings and educational workshops
  • Delivery of customer training
  • Documentation of service actions according to industry standards


What you bring along

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in life sciences
  • At least three years of experience in Field Service and/or Application Support in the Life Science industry
  • Experience in the field of lab-automation is a clear plus but not a must
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English, German is a plus
  • A valid driver’s licence and ability to travel up to 80% of the time
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Highly customer oriented mindset
