Qualification Specialist NGS Automation (all gender)

Within the Robotics Business Unit, Hamilton develops and produces pipetting robots for the automation of liquid handling processes; from standard solutions to highly complex systems that are precisely tailored to the needs of our customers.   • Execute experiments using automated liquid handling systems for newly developed NGS applications
  • Collect relevant experimental data for documentation and reports
  • Optimize liquid handling parameters
  • Observe and report points for improvement of automated NGS workflows
  • Analyze NGS library quality basic parameters (e.g. Qubit, Bioanalyzer, TapeStation, Experion, Fragment Analyzer)
  • Adapt and optimize existing scripts for liquid handling systems
  • Organize and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Manage materials and consumables required for the execution of experiments in the lab

  • Training as lab technician in biology, biomedical or pharmaceutical sciences with a minimum of 3 years of experience or degree (BSc) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or relevant Biological or Biomedical Science
  • Willingness to learn how to operate automated liquid handling systems
  • Programming skills for automated systems are beneficial
  • Prior experience in automated liquid handling is a plus
  • Good understanding of molecular biology relevant for NGS sample preparation procedures
  • Knowledge of good laboratory practices and hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques is mandatory (e.g. DNA and RNA handling, PCR, qPCR, molecular cloning)
  • General knowledge of NGS applications and relevant hands-on experience is advantageous
  • Ability to summarize and present relevant data clearly and in a structured way
  • Good time management skills with the ability to balance several parallel tasks
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English, German skills are a plus
  • High level of self-motivation with a proactive, collaborative personality
  • Strong team player
